Loyer promoted at AXA IM

  • July 6, 2020

Yannig Loyer has been named global head of trading, securities financing and derivatives at AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM). He was appointed ahead of Daniel Leon’s move to HSBC Asset Management on 15 June.

Leon, formerly head of engineering and trading, was himself promoted to global head of trading, securities financing and derivatives at AXA IM in March 2019. He left AXA IM in March 2020 and in June 2020 he was appointed global head of trading, treasury management and global solutions at HSBC AM.

At the creation of this broad position, James Levy, HSBC AM’s global head of dealing until June 2020, became head of dealing across equities, fixed income and FX in a more locally-focused role. In February, HSBC AM saw the departure of Ian Cohen, global head of market structure and execution strategy at HSBC Asset Management, to join proprietary trading firm OSTC as deputy CEO to Lee Hodgkinson.

Loyer, previously global head of trading, has been with AXA IM since 2018, and officially took over from Leon in May. He began his career at JP Morgan in London in 2002, before joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2005, where he served in different capacities, notably as managing director in charge of Global Markets Senior Relationship Management for Continental Europe, and prior to that as head of EMEA Credit Structuring.
