Simon Johnson has joined RBC as managing director, head of credit sales EMEA, based in London and reporting to Janet Wilkinson, co-head, fixed income currency and commodities (FICC) sales at RBC Capital Markets.
In his new role, he will be responsible for running sales across RBC Capital Markets’ investment grade and high yield credit client base in Europe.
This is a significant hire as the business continues in its efforts to build its European credit business, expand its client footprint and drive revenue growth in the region. Johnson will collaborate closely with sales colleagues in the region.
He brings with him extensive experience with over two decades in the industry. He joins RBC from Credit Suisse, where he held senior roles in the European credit sales team, most recently as managing director, head of UK, hedge fund and Nordic credit sales. During his career, he has built considerable client relationships having started in credit sales with Credit Suisse in March 2001.
